- 2 cups/day cuts overall risk of dying by 10%
- 2 cups/day may decrease odds of developing heart failure
- 3 cups/day may prevent Alzheimer's disease
- 4 cups/day reduces risk of dying from throat cancer by 50%
Researchers can't say why coffee has these associations, but they note that it contains a variety of antioxidants, polyphenols, and other biologically active compounds that may help against development or progression of cancers.
